Spring is one of my favorite seasons for shoes since there is so much flexibility in the styles you can wear. You guys know my love for shoes run deep, but I’ll admit that it can be pretty overwhelming at times. I’ve really learned to resist temptation these days and only stick with truly classic styles I’ll wear on repeat – either that or special statement heel that makes an outfit. Heels are easily my favorite, but they’re not always practical for everyday, which is why it’s so important to have a well-rounded mix in your wardrobe. Though everyone has their own tried and true styles, I wanted to share my pick of the 10 shoes every woman should own.
1. Pointed Pumps
A basic pump is usually my go-to on most days especially if I need to look chic in a short amount of time. Whether worn with jeans or a dress, they’ll add sophistication unlike any other style Black is the most versatile but any neutral color will do. My favorite brands are Manolo Blahnik and Gianvito Rossi.
2. Strappy Heels
Strappy heels aren’t the most practical for everyday, but they have the power to make an outfit stand out. These are usually my top pick for a night out or special event.
3. Nude Heels
Nude heels are probably the most versatile shoe style. Whether you’re rocking the beige trend or embracing statement patterns, they have the power to finish off any look. The best reason to own them though is that they’ll take you from desk to dinner effortlessly.
4. Block or Kitten Heels
Giving up heels can be hard, which is why I’m so glad that kitten heels are back. One of the styles I’m beyond obsessed with right now are bare, naked sandals like these from The Row. They’re so understated but beautiful. You can find similar styles from Topshop.
5. Ankle Strap Heels
If you’re all about that leg-lengthening effect, then a pair of simple ankle strap heels will do the trick – and it looks great with everything. Although I love these ubiquitous Stuart Weitzman heels, you can find really affordable ones from Sam Edelman.
6. Chic Flats
Chic flats are essential in any wardrobe regardless of your style. If your aesthetic is classic and tailored, loafers or mules are the way to go. However, if you prefer casual chic ensembles, then perhaps espadrilles are a better pick. Flat lace up boots are ideal for those with edgier style.
7. Animal Print Heels
I don’t often wear prints, but when I do, it’s probably a pair of snake skin booties or leopard pump. Animal print adds a nice pop of texture and pattern to simple look. And they work for both day and night.
8. Ankle Boots
Sleek, black ankle boots are my favorites in the fall and winter, especially with skinny jeans. You can easily transition them to spring with a flowy skirt or dress. Pointed toe styles offer an elegant and polished touch while those with a stacked heel work better for casual outfits.
9. Tall Boots
I’m all about tall, over-the-knee boots when the temperatures dip. They’re a fall and winter staple that I always style with jeans, leather pants, and knit dresses. My favorite styles are by Stuart Weitzman, which are a little pricey but so worth it considering how often I wear them.
If you’re always on the go, then sneakers are a must-have. I make sure to have my Nike sneakers handy for the weekends and on days when I’m running all over town.
