The Leather Pieces I’m Loving This Season
The season is full of fashion trends that I’ve been dying to wear, but there’s one that I’ve been obsessing over in particular: leather. Straight off the runways last year, we saw full leather looks in a variety of silhouettes and colors. And lately, I can’t help but notice all the fashion girls wearing leather separates, especially shirts and trousers. I’m not one to wear leather from head to toe, but I can’ t deny that I have an obsession with it. Even though the weather is getting warmer, you can still incorporate leather into your outfits. Below, I’ll be sharing the leather pieces I’ve been loving this spring.
Jacket
In SoCal, the mornings and evenings tend to be cool, which is perfect for a light leather jacket. Whether you’re a jeans-kind-of-girl or into feminine frocks, a cropped fitted jacket is the perfect topper. It looks edgy and sleek, taming more feminine pieces such as lace and ruffles. I love leather jackets with gold hardware because it adds a cool contrast to an outfit.
Trousers
Leather trousers are one of my weaknesses. I wear a lot of pants in general so naturally, leather pants are a natural fit. Although I do wear leather leggings, I’m loving the more relaxed trouser style pants this season. They look great with a crisp white button down or with form-fitting tops tucked in. I usually opt for a slightly cropped style to keep it structured and flattering.
Shorts
You can’t go wrong with high-waisted shorts that tie or belt at the waist. It’s such a perfect piece for spring and summer since you can easily dress it up or down. I love tucking feminine tops into leather shorts, and then finishing off the look with flats or heels. You can easily go from daytime casual to nighttime chic in a quick minute.
Skirt
You guys have seen me wear plenty of leather skirts on Instagram now. It’s the perfect piece for spring’s bi-polar weather. You can pair it with a simple tee on warmer days but also layer it with trench coat when the temperatures dip in the morning and at night. They also work with a variety of shoes, including sneakers, which make them so easy to wear daily!
Sandals
Minimalist leather sandals are another piece I can’t get enough of right now. I included several styles in my last shoe round up here, but wanted to share a few more options today. The barely-there straps and minimal coverage really allow your sandals to stand out. They also look great with any of the leather pieces I mentioned above.
Are you guys loving the leather trend for spring?
Totally love all your suggestions and the way you make every piece working with others. 😊
thank you so much Tzeni
How tall are you 🙂?
Hi Suzanne…. i am 5’8”
I admire your style-its perfection! May I ask what model of leather jacket you are wearing? In the suggestions, all the jackets are too short. Yours seems to be longer, hit a bit below waistline.
